Woolworths is committed to reducing plastic bags to save our environment and help customers save money. The sale of reusable bags also helps provide employment for over 100 people.
Join us on this journey and help save the planet…one bag at a time. Here are some tips to help you remember to BYOB (Bring Your Own Bag) in 2012:

MAKE A NOTE
- Write ‘reusable bags’ at the top of your shopping list to remind yourself to take them with you.
LEAVE THEM BY THE DOOR
- Once you have unpacked your groceries, leave them by the front door or on top of your handbag.
PUT THEM ON THE FRONT SEAT
- It’s no good putting them in the car if you forget them in the boot! Leave them on the passenger seat so that they catch your attention when you jump out the car.
Woolworths reusable bags are produced by two suppliers that have been identified as part of our enterprise development programme – Isikhwama, based in Maitland, Cape Town, and Gusco, based in Uitenhague, Eastern Cape. Together they employ over 100 semi-skilled and unskilled people who were previously out of work.
Watch the film “Inside Our Reusable Bags” to learn more about Isikhwama.
Woolworths reusable fabric bags are R8.95 each.
