Deboned ostrich rump roast stuffed with Clemengold, apples & cranberries
Brand new at Woolworths is this absolutely delicious and healthy deboned ostrich rump roast stuffed with Clemengold, apples & cranberries and topped with garlic and herb butter. Pre-heat oven to 200 °C. Remove ostrich roast from plastic bag and place into the foil tray. Place the foil tray in the centre of the oven on a baking sheet and oven roast for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to 160 °C and roast for another 15 – 20 minutes.Allow the roast to stand for 10 minutes before carving. Carefully remove the rope trussing before carving. Add 1 tablespoon of thick cream or crème fraîche to the roast juices for extra flavour – serving suggestion. In a rush? Keep your eyes open for Woolworths’ latest innovation, ready-peeled potatoes. They're the perfect solution to meal-time meltdowns. Roasted, mashed or boiled, they’ll take the pressure off .  To make roast potatoes in minutes, preheat the oven to 200°C. Arrange the potatoes on a baking tray, drizzle with 1 T olive oil and toss. Add a little butter, season with sea salt and few sprigs of rosemary for fl avour. Roast for 40 minutes, shaking the baking tray every now and then to ensure even colour and cooking. Woolworths hake fillets on special now!
Hake is a super versatile white fish high in protein and low in fat. It can be a little bland tasting on its own, so you can add flavour to your heart's content using a range of seasonings. This makes it the perfect fish to use to make Easter pickled fish - Cape Malay style. This recipe is best made 3 days ahead so that the flavours can develop.  Hake has few bones and makes delicious fish fingers or fish cakes. It's equally good battered, deep-fried and served with chips and a tartare sauce. In fact, baked, fried, sautéed or grilled - from fresh or frozen - everybody loves hake. But it is a delicate fish, so handle gently.
